IMPORTANT THINGS TO KNOW
IMPORTANT THINGS TO KNOW
Pre-Owned: Buying Pre-owned jeans is a great way to save money but some of them do have shrinkage, especially men's jeans. This is typically due to washing and drying the jeans incorrectly. Sometimes jeans are also hemmed and have modified length. So If your purchasing pre-owned jeans, don't rely on the tag size. If your purchasing pre-owned jeans online, this is even more crucial since shipping costs are quite high. Always purchase your pre-owned jeans from a seller who provides some basic measurements such as waist, hip, inseam and rise. We include photos of numerous measurements in the listing and all of the measurements are performed flat lay.
New with tags: Purchasing new with tags jeans online does not come without challenges as well. There are numerous brands and models that fit differently and brands also use different manufacturers and sometimes even the same model of jeans that fit you in the past will not fit. Did you know that 10% of Levi's Jeans do not have the name Levi's on the little red tab on the back pocket? Some buyers will return a pair of Levi's jeans just for that reason. This is something Levi's does intentionally because they have a patent for that little red tab on the back of the jean pockets. In order to protect that patent, they have to sell some jeans without the wording on it. Ridiculous but that's the truth. We clearly point out any jeans that have a blank red tab in our listings if that is something you care about.
Material Content: Manufacturers may use several different types of materials to make the denim fabric used in their jeans. There are numerous materials that can be used but I will focus on the three most common which are Cotton, Polyester and Spandex. We include a photo of the materials label in our listings unless the label is missing.
Cotton: Most vintage jeans are 100% Cotton which makes them rigid (not flexible) so there is no stretch in 100% Cotton Jeans. Many modern jeans are still made with 100% cotton for those who prefer the traditional fit and feel of jeans.
Polyester: Polyester typically does not add any stretch to the denim fabric.
Spandex/Elastane: Spandex (Elastane) adds flex or stretch to the denim fabric. Spandex content will usually be between 1-3% and the higher amount typically translates to more stretch.
Moto
Moto style jeans have unique ribbed panels to mimic protective motorcycle gear.
Stacked
Stacked jeans will typically measure several inches longer on the inseam than the tag size states or the wearer will order a pair of jeans a size or two longer than their normal jeans.
Tapered
Tapered jeans are more narrow at the leg opening. Some jeans start to taper from the thigh while others start to taper from the knee.
Distressed with Underlay
Distressed jeans with underlay have a layer of material underneath holes and doesn't reveal skin.
